Position Details

Position Type: Part-time (10–15 hours per week), with potential for full-time later this year.
Work Schedule: Includes some evenings and most weekends
Pay Range: $16–$20/hour (based on training and experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Horticulture Programming Coordinator to design and implement engaging programs that promote the therapeutic and educational benefits of horticulture to a variety of audiences. In coordination with the owner, the role will involve developing partnerships with local businesses, schools, and organizations to deliver innovative programming for children and adults.

Potential programs include after-school clubs, wellness initiatives, vocational training for individuals with disabilities, private workshops, and outreach programs for schools or retirement communities. The Coordinator will work with other staff to support plant care and retail operations, ensuring the Plant 4 Good mission is represented in all interactions.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or certificate (completed or in progress) in horticulture, agriculture or related field

  • Certification in therapeutic horticulture (preferred)

Experience:

  • 2+ years of horticulture experience, including vegetable growing, houseplant care, and propagation

  • Background in working with people and delivering programs

  • Creative program design that aligns with Plant 4 Good’s mission

  • Strong relationship-building skills with local stakeholders and customers

  • Ability to collect, analyze, and use program feedback for continuous improvement

  • Self-motivated, personable, and an effective problem solver

  • Excellent communication skills tailored to various audiences

  • Commitment to inclusivity, integrity, and delivering exceptional customer experiences

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to 30 lbs

  • Stand for extended periods

  • Operate a vehicle for supply pickups
