About Carolyn

Carolyn Vachani has had a long career in oncology nursing and patient education. She has been a gardener since buying her first home thirty years ago. During the Covid pandemic, Carolyn found that spending time in her garden helped her control the stress and anxiety surrounding home schooling kids and working alongside them all day.

This led her to discover the field of therapeutic horticulture – using plants and nature to promote both physical and mental wellness. She completed a Certificate in Therapeutic Horticulture through the North Carolina Botanical Garden and a Garden and Landscape Certificate of Mastery from North Carolina State University.

She dreams of being a homesteader - but is far too lazy of a gardener to make that happen. Instead, Carolyn loves being inspired by real homesteaders to learn about growing, eating, and storing your own food and making natural products. She is passionate about sharing her love of plants and the many benefits they can bring and started Plant 4 Good to do just that.
